As part of the Armed Forces Day Celebration's, a Golf competition will be held at Cottrell Park Golf club situated in the Vale of Glamorgan on Tuesday 25th June 2013. The Club has once again very kindly agreed to sponsor the day by waiving the green fees, the cost for the day will be £ 25 per person for which, in addition to the golf, will include a bacon roll and coffee on arrival, a Hog Roast and Presentations to the lucky winners.

The day is open to all members of the Armed Forces, Past, Present and Future and Private Golf Club members. As well as an individual for both Armed Forces Closed and an Open Club Stableford competition, there will be a team competition, with teams from the three Armed Services Golf Unions, Regimental Associations, Cadets, Regimental Golf / Unit societies the Merchant Navy, in fact any organisation or any individual that has a service connection.
 

 

The Team competition on one Course for a maximum of 12 teams of four with the best three cards of each team to count, and the individual Stableford for 50 players on the other, the take up for this day is expected to be high so it will be on a first come basis. Please ensure that when returning your application form you include your payment in full and by no later than Monday 10th June 2013.

Individual Competition Handicaps. Maximum Handicap allowed will be 24, with a 7/8 allowance, example, a player with a 24 handicap would receive 21 strokes, where a player with a handicap of 18 (7/8 of) = 15.75 would recieve16 strokes.

Team Handicaps. Maximum Handicap will be 24 with a ¾ allowance, example a player with a 24 handicap would receive 18 strokes, and a player with a handicap of 18 would be 13.5, therefore would receive 14 strokes.
